Genius Horse Painting

Genius Horse painting

Horses were painted
all over the centuries.

And some became more famous
than their painters

The first painting
That comes to mind is Guernica

Where Picasso depicts
the bombing of Guernica,
a northern Spanish town
by the Nazis in 1937

A twisted, agonising horse,
pierced by a spear.
with suffering townspeople all around

A human skull hidden
in the shape of the horse’s nostrils and teeth.

A warning for mankind
If we dare to listen

Some romance

Some romance

Once again we saddled our horses
and rided up the mountainside.

This is such an awesome sentence. No? It leaves the dream open and yet full of reality. The effort of saddling a horse and riding up a mountain. The reward? A breathtaking view of the valley.

The Wild horse

The wild horse

If you want to catch a wild horse,
find a tight corral.

What does this mean?

It means a wild horse has its own rules and is hard to catch and tame. It needs a tight hand. Who shall ride it?

Were common warfare
in the Near East.

Wrote his treatise on horsemanship
By 360 BC.

Improved the riding over the centuries.

The last big battles with horses

The unicorn

The unicorn

The oldest seals of the Unicorn
Have been found in the Indus Valley
A civilisation going back
To far Indian antiquity

Cattle represented in profile
With one horn
Possibly having two horns
Also known as aurochs
And some even goat-like

The ancient greeks
Believed in the reality of unicorns
As living in India
And they described them
In their writings

A mythical animal?
An extinguished animal?

Fact it that ancient European sagas
Do mention the unicorn
As a wild horse
Whose horn brings healing
Only tamed by the virtue of a virgin

The old Mesopotamian art
Also mentions the unicorn

Many modern histories
Are fantasies
Compared to the old scriptures

Even Chinese scripts
Do mention the unicorn!

Time to revive the strenght and beauty
Of this unique and awesome
Animal

Putting bits to steer a horse

Putting bits

Behold,
Putting bits in the horses mouths,
they obey us;
and we turn about their whole body.

What does this mean?

It means putting bits is an art, just like riding. Every horse is different and a good bit is like a wheel. It steers your horse in the right direction.

I have seen many bad riders, without any subtility, abusing the reins and damaging the horses mouth.

So, next time… whatch the reins. They are not made for pulling but for steering.

Never ride a horse in fear.

The black stallion

The black stallion

A beautiful horse.
A magnificient one!

I am not talking about the movie
The book or the series.

Just about a beautiful horse.

My youth was filled with a poster
And gues…?

Yes, a black stallion on a hill,
Against a blue sky,
His manes waving in the Wind.

I have tried to find that poster.
In vain…
it was lost with the many moves of my life.

But the image was such a powerful picture.
It is imprinted in my memory forever.

They call the Wind Mariah!

Old Indian relics

Old Indian relics!

Farmers occasionally
plough up
old Indian relics.

What is the point?

History has its own turns.

And sooner or later new evidence is found of old civilisations and ancient tribes. In this case the relics of the native people of America who have been slaughtered, killed and exterminated without any respect of their land, language and culture. Horses of warfare!

Their tribal wars also!

Not something to be proud of. … not at all.
Not something to forget.
And certainly not something to be repeated.

They were proud riders and outstanding warriors.
This is a tribute to all of them.
Not just on American soil, but all over the world.

A cry out to the nations

O Wioheumpata!
The YELLOW east…

From thou comest the Sun.
Comes the Light.
From Sunset to dawn.

A new begin.
A new day.

We Ask the great Spirit,
for wisom and understanding!

O Itokaga!
WHITE South…

The sun at its highest,
Brings warmth and growing.
Drawing life on earth.

We ask the great Spirit,
To preserve our lives,
For a safe return in the skies

O Wiyokpiyata.
The BLACK west..l

Here sets the sun.
Here ends the day.

The great Thunderbird lives there.
Sending thunder and rains
Over our lands.

We ask the great Spirit,
To bless and preserve the waters on earth

O Waziyata!
The RED North…

From thou comes the cold.
The freezing weathers.
Your winds are cleansing.

Leaves do fall,
And rest under snow.
We need patience and endurance!

We ask the great Spirit,
To help us in tribulation.

And now!

Let us turn our pipe of peace to the earth.
Invoke a blessing from heavens.
And turn within, to the most sacred place.

O Wakan Tanka!

Great spirit and BLUE bird in the sky
Preserve our GREEN mother earth
And make my soul realize
Its place and destiny in the Universe
